| HOMEUne chambre d'hôtes in the Auvergne, Allier. Come and enjoy the pure nature of the Montagne bourbonnaise, part of the Auvergne. The Maison des Sources, a authentic maison bourbonnaise is situated at 800 m on the southside of the hill of the hamlet Carton. Several terraces (1 ha) surround the house and offer you a splendid view over the surrounding. Wandering about and hiking are the preferred activities in this area. In summertime you find a small lake for swimming at 10 min distance. Horseriding, old hamlets, villages, castles(The Bourbon dinasty), small rivers for fishing, Vichy with its thermalism and Art Nouveau architecture etc. In wintertime (on a modest scale): ski, cross-country ski, snowboard, racket, luge etc. Leo van Hengel, peintre-artiste and professional teacher takes care of workshops painting and portraying several times a year. During your sportive or creative day Mieke will prepare you a delicieus meal with the Auvergne ingredients: Charolais beaf, Bleu d'Auvergne, Saint Nectaire, Côtes d'Auvergne, rouge, blanc et rosé, pâté de pommes de terre, poule d'auvergne aux épices maghrebs, fondant au chocolat etc. The room with a 2 pers. | COMFORT & SERVICESFrom the chambre d'hôtes, Maison des Sources, small pistes lead you through the countryside. You don't need to take the car first. A sittingroom is available. At a three night stay you can use a wellequiped kitchen. Dinner is served on one of the terrasses or near the cheminée. Several bbq and tables are around the house. For a swim it's only 10 minutes downhill. The owner, painter and art teachter Leo van Hengel gives workshops painting in several materials and several subjects. The Maison des Sources is like an art gallery. Workshops are given the whole year round, all levells, from one day. Arrangements with stay and meals are possible. Don't hesitate to ask for. Top |
